Grace Iacuone, M.Ed. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S). She earned her Master's degree in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University and Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southwestern University. Grace is a Past President for the Texas Association of Play Therapy with 5 years prior leadership on the board. She is a graduate of the Association for Play Therapy's (APT) Leadership Academy and serves on the APT Conference Committee.
Currently, Grace teaches for the Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy for Children & Adolescents Post Graduate Certificate Program at The Ukraine Institute for Education in Psychology and Counseling. Additionally, under the leadership of Steve Graner, she helps facilitate at group of Ukrainian therapists teach Bruce Perry's Neurosequential Model to schools to help support their students in the midst of war. Grace is currently studying and participating in a mastermind group lead by Donna Parker focused on cutting edge methodologies in perspective shifts of Dr. Demartini and principles of quantum physics.
Grace has almost 20 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings including grief counseling through Hospice of Lubbock, college counseling through Texas Tech Counseling Center, child and adolescent home-based community counseling, and inpatient treatment at Green Oaks Hospital in Dallas. She worked for over four years for Fair Oaks Youth & Family Center of Dallas ISD working in school-based counseling supporting K-18 refugee students and their families. Before relocating with her family to San Antonio, Grace was managing medical and mental health services for two Youth and Family Centers through Dallas ISD.
In 2013 Grace opened Grace Iacuone Counseling, PLLC to provide direct and specialized care for individuals and their families in San Antonio. A couple years later, alongside a local psychologist and pediatrician, she codeveloped and managed a cutting edge integrated health care model providing counseling services within a pediatrician’s office.
Her vast experiences have developed Grace’s specialties in grief, cultural adjustment, attachment, family conflict, major mental illness, depression, anxiety, crisis management, integrated health care, college & young adult adjustment, postpartum depression/anxiety, caregiver & helping professional support, burnout, self-esteem, and play therapy.
Grace practices from base modalities of Family Systems and Humanistic (Client-Centered and Existential) theories combined with mind/body modalities of Synergetic Play Therapy and Interpersonal Neurobiology. She also has training in Internal Family Systems, Theraplay, Neurosequential Model, Demartini Method ,and Sandtray.
Outside of the office, Grace relishes life with her husband and their two VERY active sons. She enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, gardening, water skiing, sports, hiking, exercising, yoga, and learning.
